5-Day Devotional: Courage to Follow God's Will

Reading: Acts 20:22-24

Devotional: Paul declared he was "bound in the Spirit" to go to Jerusalem, knowing bonds and afflictions awaited him. Yet he said, "None of these things move me." What powerful determination! Paul had purposed in his spirit to finish his course with joy, regardless of suffering. The key phrase is "neither count I my life dear unto myself." When we hold our lives loosely, we hold God's purposes tightly. External circumstances lose their power to dictate our decisions when we're internally anchored to God's will. Have you determined to do God's will before you even know what you'll face? Purpose in your heart today that whatever tomorrow brings, you will follow Jesus.

Devotional: "The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion." Courage isn't the absence of fear; it's faith rising above it. Jesus displayed holy courage when He walked toward the armed crowd and declared, "I am He." Our battle isn't against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces. When we live in obedience, our conscience is clear, and courage blooms in our hearts. Wickedness, disobedience, and worldliness cause courage to evaporate. But faith, obedience, and surrender make us bold. Courage comes from three sources: the Lord, righteous living, and perfect love. Stand firm today, knowing your battle is the Lord's.

Devotional: When Peter drew his sword to defend Jesus, the Lord asked, "Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?" Jesus could have called 72,000 angels to rescue Him, but He chose to drink the cup of God's wrath for our sake. He embraced the Father's plan, even unto death. This is the ultimate demonstration of obedience and love. Jesus drank judgment so we wouldn't have to. Have you embraced your Father's plan for your life? It may not include a cross, but it will require surrender. God has numbered your days and fashioned you for a purpose. Don't waste your remaining steps living in fear or disobedience.

Devotional: "All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be." Your steps are numbered by God. You cannot take one step more or one step less than He has ordained. This truth should liberate us from fear and propel us into purpose. God has created you for good works, prepared in advance for you to walk in. There are people only you can reach, purposes only you can fulfill. Don't allow the enemy's lies about unworthiness to paralyze you. Through Christ's blood, you are made acceptable and appointed for kingdom work. Use your remaining days to live in faith, walking boldly in God's will.
